The boardwalk at Black Gator Honey winding past sabal palms and marsh grass under a big South Texas sky

Bayview · Rio Grande Valley, Texas

Wild wetlands, quiet nights, and honey from the land.

A small glamping retreat on a piece of untamed South Texas resaca, with a private nature trail, native palms, resident herons and black alligators, and beehives out back. Slow down and stay a while.

No payment today. We confirm every stay personally by email.

The stays

One pod open soon. Six more on the way.

We're keeping it small on purpose. Each hexagonal pod sits in its own pocket of the wetland: close enough to hear the whistling ducks, far enough to feel like the only people for miles.

Explore the land

A wild resaca that runs its own way.

Wander the private trail out to the boardwalk, where the resaca opens up under the palms. Mornings belong to the herons and egrets; evenings to the whistling ducks. And yes, the black alligators are real, and they keep to the water.

Blooms & butterflies

Native wildflowers pull in butterflies all season, and they feed the bees.

Honey & goods

Raw wildflower honey, straight from the property.

The same blooms that draw the butterflies feed our hives. We jar the honey raw and unfiltered, plus a few small seasonal goods. The online shop is on its way. Reserve a jar now and we'll set it aside.

Our story

A piece of wild land that asked to be shared.

We came for the quiet and stayed for everything else: the palms, the resaca, the herons at first light, and the black alligators that gave this place its name. Somewhere between tending the beehives and watching the sun drop behind the water, we realized we wanted a few other people to feel it too.

So we're building it slowly and by hand: one hexagonal pod first, then a few more, each set gently into the land. No resort and no crowds, just a real place in South Texas, honey included.
